What exactly is Corroboree?
Corroboree is a vibrant, yet casual fundraiser to support the work of SAVE, Inc., Kansas CIty's oldest and largest housing provider for those living with or at risk for HIV/AIDS.
What does Corroboree even mean? (And how on earth do you say it!?)
Corroboree is an Australian word meaning "nocturnal festival of song & dance." In Aborigine tradition the dances & song require great skill and sophistication. If you've been to Corroborees in the past, you know we believe that it's truly the thought that counts. As for how to say it, I've heard both CoROBoree or CoraBORee.
Where on earth is the City Market Park??? I thought this was a Zoo Party??
I know, I know. We've moved the event on you, but in today's tough economic times, we are trying to make the most of your support dollars by reducing expenses. So a move to the City Market Park means that nearly 85 cents of every dollar you spend at Corroboree In The Park goes straight to help those in need. And we believe that this new venue will be an even better fit for Corroboree and the culture that you have come to expect from this event.
Plus, the Park is centrally located and easy access for most folks in the metro area. It's in the River Market area right next to the City Market where you go every Saturday morning to get your fruits & veggies. If you are standing on the corner by Minskys on 5th street, look north. See those trees and the brick sidewalks? See that great green space? THAT's the City Market Park. Nice, huh?

I've heard there's complimentary wine & beer at Corroboree...can this be true?
Absolutely. We wouldn't lie to you about that, that would be too cruel. Your Corroboree ticket gets you all the red & white wine, beer, soda and water you could possibly stomach!
Is the food at Corroboree going to be good?
Good? Try phenomenal! You'll be feasting on a variety of delicious cuisines, of which there will be plenty to fill you up.
What should I wear?
Corroboree is a casual yet vibrant party among friends, so you should wear whatever you will feel comfortable in. Basically, anything goes as long as all requisite areas are covered. Will there be entertainment? I mean, what do I DO at Corroboree?
What do you NOT do is more like it!! Two live bands - Shannon and the Rhythm Kings and Kathleen and the One Night Stand Band - will give you plenty to shake your groove thing to. This is of course only when you're not stuffing your face with the best cuisine in Kansas City while washing it all down with a cold beer or glass of wine. You can peruse the fantasic items in the silent auction or save your benjamins for the dynamite live auction. And I haven't even mentioned this year's hostess with the mostest - the legendary, dare I say iconic - Ms. Dirty Dorothy!
